Stitch Pattern

I designed and stitched this pattern years ago. I got the inspiration for it from the Mario t-shirt Katie (Katydid Stitches/Crafty Peacock Stitchery) wore in her FlossTube episode 9 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkpY7iErK4o).

I chose to use DMC Etoile floss for the pattern. Some of the colors ended up not having the contrast I would have liked, so I have listed alternate options in the pattern. I planned to use this pattern as a freebie for newsletter subscribers, but I never got the newsletter up and going.

As I prepared for ways to celebrate 10 years since I released my first patterns in March 2016 (owl bookmarks), I decided to release this as a freebie for everyone. When I pulled up the pattern that I had put together, I saw that the copyright date on it was 2023. I also realized that not all the finishing tutorials I listed were still available, so I updated the pattern.

You can download this free pattern here:

Lazy Daisy

When I stitched the pattern, I used a lazy daisy stitch for the eye of the needle. Here is a tutorial that shows how to do a lazy daisy stitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo5Le1uiZY4. There are many other tutorials available as well.

Fully Finishing

When I did the fully finishing, I used tutorials from Carolyn Mazzeo and Vonna Pfeiffer.
