The idea for these ornaments started with the border of a woven blanket that we have hanging in our bedroom. Looking at it, I could see an angel (the lower part of the photo below), which inspired the first design.
Later on, I was preparing to submit the design to Just CrossStitch magazine, but they had a feature at that time where, for an ornament set, one appeared in the August issue, and the other appeared in the Christmas Ornament issue. So, I flipped the shape upside down and designed the tree ornament.
The magazine didn't accept the ornaments, but I later stitched and fully finished the ornaments. I am a bit unhappy with how the fully finishing is not quite perfect, so I kept putting off releasing the pattern. But I really do love these designs, so I decided others needed the opportunity to stitch them if they so desire. The pattern for these ornaments is available in my Etsy shop: https://kebstudiocreations.etsy.com/listing/4569669773/gloria-and-tannenbaum-christmas
I took photos as I did the fully finishing and created this video showing the process. The pattern includes the template that I used for cutting out the mat board.
